Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu has sent Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, to Ghana on a special mission following the controversial remarks by the self-styled Igbo king, Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu.
According to Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the visit was to gather firsthand information and hold political consultations to help ease tensions between the two countries.
Ablakwa described the discussions as constructive and said it was reassuring to hear that the Nigerian government does not support the statements made by the said community leader.
He also revealed that Minister Bianca thanked President Mahama and Ghanaians for their tolerance and assured that Tinubu’s government will continue to protect Ghanaians in Nigeria.
