POLICE SECURE CONVICTION OF DAVID AFFUL FOR INCITING VIOLENCE

The Ghana Police Service has secured the conviction of David Kwodwo Prah Afful, also known as Kwame Nkrumah II, who was arrested on 13th September 2025 for inciting violence against some public officials and other government workers.

The accused was arraigned before Circuit Court 8 in Accra, presided over by His Honour Amoah Hagan, on charges of Threat of Death and Offensive Conduct Conducive to the Breach of the Peace.

He pleaded not guilty to the first count of Threat of Death and guilty to the second count of Offensive Conduct. On his own plea, the court convicted him and sentenced him to seven months' imprisonment with hard labour for the second count. The case on the first count of Threat of Death has been adjourned to 15th October 2025.

Convict David Afful, alias Kwame Nkrumah II, is being processed for transfer to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons to serve his sentence.

The Ghana Police Service wishes to assure the public that it remains committed to ensuring that persons whose conduct threatens public peace, safety, and national security are dealt with in accordance with the law.

Man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk arrested after being turned in by his own father

The man who killed Charlie Kirk has been arrested. He's a 22-year-old boy from Utah called Tyler Robinson. He confessed to his father, revealing how Kirk annoyed him with his hate speeches. His father then handed him over to the police.

The man accused of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was identified Friday as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, after being turned in by his own father.

President Donald Trump was the first to reveal this during an appearance on Fox & Friends, saying he learned about the arrest just moments before his interview.

"Somebody who was very close to him turned him in," Trump explained. "I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him." He added that the person who contacted authorities was Robinson's father, a longtime law enforcement officer, who reportedly acted after his son confessed.

Trump called Kirk "the finest person" and said he hoped the suspect "gets the death penalty."

Hours later, Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed the arrest. "We got him," Cox declared at a Friday morning press conference, noting that Robinson was taken into custody around 10 p.m. Thursday, roughly 33 hours after the shooting at Utah Valley University.

Investigators say Robinson had grown increasingly political in recent months and expressed open hatred toward Kirk. In chilling details, bullet casings recovered from the scene carried messages including "Hey fascist! Catch!" and "If you read this, you are gay LMAO." One casing was also marked with "Bella Ciao," an Italian anti-fascist song from World War II.

Police believe Robinson carefully planned the attack. Discord messages with his roommate reportedly revealed arrangements to stash the rifle in a towel near the rooftop sniper's nest. The weapon was recovered soon after the shooting.

Family photos once shared online by Robinson's mother painted a different image of her son, celebrating his acceptance into college and calling him a "genius." The family lives in a six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah, more than 250 miles from the Orem campus where the attack took place.

Kirk, 31, was shot once while speaking at an outdoor event at the university's Losee Center. He collapsed immediately after answering a question about mass shootings carried out by transgender individuals. The Turning Point USA co-founder, who leaves behind a wife and two young children, died at the scene.

In a video shared by Ghanaian YouTuber De God Son, the young rapper is all grown up and now working as a coconut seller.

The video started with a man confronting a coconut seller while another person filmed the encounter.

In the video, the man identified the coconut seller as Tutulapato, but the rap star seemed agitated and denied being the one.

The exchange of words led to an altercation between Tutulapato and them, as the coconut seller insisted they stop filming him and moved towards the one holding the camera.

Flagbearer hopeful and former lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong has announced plans to begin his tour across the 276 constituencies in Ghana.

The former Assin Central member of parliament's Unity Tour is expected to enter the nooks and crannies as he works to be given the mandate to lead the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 elections.

Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has finally addressed circulating rumours suggesting he and actress Charly D were romantically involved.

Activist Ralph St Williams has broken his silence following accusations from Sarah Danquah, spokesperson for nurses at Ridge Hospital, who claimed he assaulted a pregnant nurse during a visit to the facility on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Sarah Danquah told GhOne TV on Thursday, August 28 that the nurses have video evidence showing Ralph slapping the nurse and promised to release the footage for public viewing.

In response, Ralph went live on Facebook to set the record straight.

He explained that during the commotion at Ridge Hospital, he slipped and accidentally brushed against a pregnant nurse.

"I apologised to the nurse immediately as the contact was incidental," he said, stressing that no evidence shows him violently slapping anyone.

Ralph added that he is prepared to take the matter spiritually if anyone decides to lie about the incident, insisting that his interaction with the nurse was unintentional.

A fresh wave of tribal conflict in the Upper West Region has reportedly left two individuals dead and several injured, according to local sources and security personnel.

The violence, which erupted earlier today, saw clashes between rival groups, leading to the destruction of property and a heavy deployment of police and military to restore order.

Authorities have initiated an investigation, and curfews may be imposed in affected areas to prevent further escalation.

A tribal conflict between the Sisaala and Dagaaba communities in the twin communities of Sina and Dindee, Lambusie District, Upper West Region of Ghana, has led to the deaths of two people. The conflict began on August 21, 2025, and escalated on August 22, 2025.

According to reports, the conflict started after a Sisaala man allegedly damaged crops on a Dagao's farm. In response, a Dagao shot and killed a goat that had entered their farm. In a separate incident, a Dagao's goat entered a Sisaala man's farm and was killed in retaliation. This led to the Dagaaba community beating to death the Sisaala man, a retired staff member of the Ministry of Agriculture. In retaliation, the Sisaala community killed a Dagao.

Sporadic shootings have been reported in and around Sina and Dindee. The Dagaaba community allegedly burned down the residence of former DCE Kofi Diyaka in Sina.

Despite the violence, a reliable source indicates calm has been restored to the area. There has been a history of land conflicts between the two tribes in the area.

The Anti-illegal Mining Taskforce in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region has dismantled major galamsey sites, destroying nearly 100 machines and arresting two suspects.

The operation focused on activities along the Birim River at Ankaase and Anyinam, where illegal miners had deployed inland "chanfan" machines to wash gold directly into the river, leaving it heavily polluted and the surrounding environment devastated.

Comprising military officers, police, and local volunteers, the taskforce carried out the raid under the directive of District Chief Executive, Ernest Owusu Ntim, who has charged the team to protect and restore the river to its natural state.

Illegal miners, numbering about 100, fled upon spotting the taskforce. However, only two suspects were arrested due to the difficult terrain and the risk of drowning during the pursuit.

The Acting CEO of the Financial Intelligence Centre, Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo, has issued a strong warning to dancehall star Shatta Wale following his release from EOCO custody.

Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a nurse at **Ridge Hospital** assaulted during a violent incident involving relatives of a patient on August 17, has filed a **GH₵7 million** civil lawsuit against social media personality **Ralph Saint Williams**, also known as "Ralph De Fellow Ghanaian," for alleged physical assault and defamation.

According to a **Writ of Summons** filed at the **High Court in Accra** on August 20, 2025, and sighted by Citi News on August 22, Bortei is seeking GH₵5 million for battery and GH₵2 million for defamation.

The **Statement of Claim** alleges that Williams physically assaulted Bortei, causing injuries including a dislocated shoulder and a hand injury, which have affected her professional duties.
