“Olamide started maltreãting Fireboy after signing Asake. His record label was no longer promoting him like before; they weren't allowing him to release more music, and he gradually lost fame.” 👀
This is what some fans are saying and it's actually true to an extent..
Again, we want to tell you that a record label is not a charity organization. When they sign you, they want to make as much money from you as possible. Once they notice you are no longer trending, they will sideline you and move to someone else.
Fireboy knew what he was signing, and that's the reason he has never come out to complain.
When you are signed to a record label, they give you millions, and you are supposed to take orders. If your deal is 20 years, they can decide that you will not release music for 3 years, and you have nothing to say.
It's always stated in most record deals that the record label decides when to work with you, and not you choosing things. They decide when to release your music and when to do your tours.
If you are on vacation with your girlfriend and the record label wants you to come to the studio, even if you ontop and doing things, you just have to come down and go to work to repay your loan(yes, a record is usually like an investment loan).
When Asake was trending, YBNL had to stop working with Fireboy because they wanted to focus on Asake and make the most money from his music in his prime. Now that Asake has left the label, you see Fireboy is back and surely preparing an album. That is how record deals are.
Some fans do not know this, and we are here to inform y’all so you understand some things about the music industry.
