Ghanaian actress and socialite Akuapem Poloo has revealed that she once paid people to insult her online to gain public attention.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes, she said the strategy worked during the early stages of her career when she struggled to get noticed.
“For about a year, I paid people to insult me. After that, people started calling for interviews and brand deals.

She shared, adding that some artistes, including Fameye, even paid her to dance or twerk to promote their songs.
Poloo also reflected on her acting beginnings, revealing she was once paid as low as GH¢20 per role, except for her time on GBC’s Obra series, where veteran actress Maame Dokono ensured better conditions.
