Captain Smart, has announced his intention to sponsor a student from Keta Senior High Technical School on the August 21, 2025, episode of his Onua Maakye show.
He made this known after the young girl, a final year clothing and textiles student, went viral as she presented her final practical project and it hit the internet.
The student amazed teachers and colleagues with her couture project when she walked the runway. Her creation featured a waist-hooping ring with suspenders that changed the outfit from a straight dress to a beautifully scaled ball gown.
The viral video has sparked massive reactions from many Ghanaians and garnered significant traction online as netizens weighed in on the amount of creativity and innovation exhibited by the student.
Reacting to the video on his show, Captain Smart said, "Any university you plan to attend in Ghana, tell your parents to sleep. Just Bring every bill from level 100 to 400, add hostel, provisions and fees, I will pay it all."

GHANAIAN MAN ARRESTED FOR DUPING PEOPLE TO FUND LAVISH NAMING CEREMONY
A 35-year-old man, Richard Kobee, has been arrested after allegedly duping over 20 people in Enyanmaim, Central Region.
According to a report by Crime Check sighted by Ghbase News, Kobee is said to have collected more than GH₵20,000 under the pretense of helping his “sick mother,” only for residents to later find out she wasn’t ill. Instead, he reportedly splashed the cash on what locals call the most extravagant naming ceremony the town has ever witnessed.
After months of excuses and no refunds, Kobee went into hiding in Takoradi. Reports say he used multiple phone numbers, impersonated women, and even lured female victims into fake relationships to get money.
At home, he allegedly installed CCTV cameras and locked himself inside to avoid angry creditors.
He has since been brought back to Enyanmaim for victims to identify him and is now assisting police with investigations.

Ghanaian radio presenter Oheneni Adazoa has shared a painful experience of being mocked by a listener who taunted her for being childless.
The Sompa Nkomo host revealed that a man, identified as Emmanuel Owusu, sent her an audio message ridiculing her after disagreeing with one of her recent shows.
Oheneni, who has openly battled infertility for over 21 years and gone through six failed IVFs, says she remains hopeful.
Her struggles inspired her to establish the Women of Faith Fellowship, a support group that now has over 1,100 members and has already celebrated three safe deliveries.
SHATTA WALE GRANTED GH₵10M BAIL AFTER EOCO DETENTION
Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has been granted bail following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
The bail was set at GH₵10 million, with the condition that he provides two sureties. Although the court has approved the bail, Shatta Wale remains in EOCO custody as his legal team and management work to meet the terms. His release is expected to take place by Thursday, August 21, 2025, once all requirements are fully satisfied.
Shatta Wale’s detention is linked to an ongoing investigation into his yellow Lamborghini Urus, which was earlier seized by EOCO in collaboration with U.S. authorities. The car has been tied to allegations of tax evasion and possible money laundering.

BARCELONA PAYS €1M FOR GHANAIAN YOUNGSTER ABDUL AZIZ ISSAH
The amount of money La Liga giants Barcelona paid to sign Ghanaian youngster Abdul Aziz Issah has come to light.
