Tribal Conflict in Upper West Region Leaves Two Dead

A tribal conflict between the Sisaala and Dagaaba communities in the twin communities of Sina and Dindee, Lambusie District, Upper West Region of Ghana, has led to the deaths of two people. The conflict began on August 21, 2025, and escalated on August 22, 2025.

According to reports, the conflict started after a Sisaala man allegedly damaged crops on a Dagao’s farm. In response, a Dagao shot and killed a goat that had entered their farm. In a separate incident, a Dagao’s goat entered a Sisaala man’s farm and was killed in retaliation. This led to the Dagaaba community beating to death the Sisaala man, a retired staff member of the Ministry of Agriculture. In retaliation, the Sisaala community killed a Dagao.

Sporadic shootings have been reported in and around Sina and Dindee. The Dagaaba community allegedly burned down the residence of former DCE Kofi Diyaka in Sina.

Niger, Nigeria, Mali Deliver Significant Blows to Terrorist Leadership

Niger, Nigeria, and Mali have recently carried out a series of targeted operations against the leadership of Boko Haram, ISWAP, Ansaru, and the Islamic State in the Sahel, delivering significant blows to these groups and disrupting their command structures across the region.

In Niger, the Nigerien Armed Forces (FAN) announced on August 15 the neutralization of Ibrahim Mahamadou, known as “Bakoura,” leader of the JAS faction of Boko Haram, during an air operation on Chilawa Island in the Diffa region. The operation followed weeks of reconnaissance and precision strikes.

Bakoura, a former lieutenant of Abubakar Shekau, assumed leadership of JAS after Shekau’s suicide in May 2021 and escalated attacks against civilians and security forces in the Lake Chad Basin.

Niamey attributes to him the kidnapping of several hundred schoolchildren in Kuriga, Nigeria, in March 2024. Experts such as Vincent Foucher have urged caution in confirming his death definitively. In Nigeria, authorities announced on August 16 the arrest of two senior figures from Ansaru, a Boko Haram splinter faction linked to Al-Qaeda.

Mahmud Muhammad Usman, alias Abu Bara’a, the group’s leader, and his deputy Mahmud al-Nigeri, alias Mallam Mamuda, were captured during operations conducted between May and July 2025.

The duo faced charges related to attacks, kidnappings, and orchestrating escapes. Abuja described their arrest as “the most decisive blow against Ansaru since its creation in 2012.”

Earlier, on May 30, 2025, Nigerian special forces neutralized Amir Abu Fatima, a high-ranking ISWAP commander, along with several of his lieutenants in Borno State.

Anti-illegal Mining Taskforce Dismantles Major Galamsey Sites, Destroys Nearly 100 Machines

The Anti-illegal Mining Taskforce in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region has dismantled major galamsey sites, destroying nearly 100 machines and arresting two suspects.

The operation focused on activities along the Birim River at Ankaase and Anyinam, where illegal miners had deployed inland “chanfan” machines to wash gold directly into the river, leaving it heavily polluted and the surrounding environment devastated.

Comprising military officers, police, and local volunteers, the taskforce carried out the raid under the directive of District Chief Executive, Ernest Owusu Ntim, who has charged the team to protect and restore the river to its natural state.

Illegal miners, numbering about 100, fled upon spotting the taskforce. However, only two suspects were arrested due to the difficult terrain and risk of drowning during the pursuit.

OLAMIDE’S SECRET TO A TIMELESS COLLABORATION WITH DARKOO

🚨🚨🚨 Darkoo revealed that Olamide messaged her on Instagram and told her he is a big fan of her music and wanted to feature her on a song from his album.

The shocking part is that when Olamide was sending the beat for Darkoo to record her verse, he intentionally removed Wizkid’s verse and did not let Darkoo know that Wizkid was also on the song.

It was after Darkoo had recorded her verse and sent it to Olamide that he informed her that Big Wiz was also on the song. Omo Baddo did not want to put Darkoo under any unnecessary pressure, he wanted her to do her thing without feeling the heat that Big Wiz was on the record. MICHAEL JACKSON NEVER CHANGED HIS COLOR OR WAS INTO LITTLE KIDS - AKON

🚨🚨🇺🇸🇬🇭🇺🇸 I wanna make it clear that Michael Jackson was never into lîttle kids and he never changed his color, he just had Vitiligo. All the negatîve stûff y'all saw about Michael Jackson was made up." - Akon

"Michael Jackson was a very good friend of mine and we used to have regular casual conversations just like friends will do. Michael Jackson was human just like us too, he liked everything we liked. He wasn't into thick womęn, he liked womęn who were super models. Michael Jackson was never into little kids. They monitored him all the time so they could get something to use agaînst him and when they discovered that he was clean and they had nothing on him, they brought up that story because they used to see him with kids. And I also wanna make it clear that Michael Jackson never changed his color too, like I mean he had Vitiligo. Vitiligo is a condition where the pigment is lost from areas of the skin, causing whitish patches and sometimes leads to complete lõss of milanin, often with no clear cause. It can happen to me, it can happen to you. So they figured that Africans didn't know much about Vitiligo at the time and then they brought up the story that he hatęd who he was just so blacks could hâte him.

I am saying this because Michael Jackson's legacy has to be protectęd. The times that he used to speak like kids was genuine because alot of kids looked up to him and he wanted them to grow to be the best they could be. Each and every one of us has to take it as a responsibility to protęct Michael Jackson's legacy because we're never gonna get another Michael Jackson again." 🇬🇭🐐
